Mary Berry Book

For the first time an image of mine is being used for a book cover. Very exciting. I loved photographing Mary Berry. She's great, absolutely no nonsense but warm. I remember asking her what her husband thought of her success and she replied, "oh he's not interested dear, as long as his suppers ready on time". Brilliant!

Russell and Jordan's Flat

I love this flat, photographed for the Guardian a few weeks ago. It's stylish but its also really joyful and fun. It's made me realise though how unadventurous I am in my own flat. If I paint a wall light grey instead of white I feel like a crazy woman. Thanks to the lovely Russell and Jordan for letting us into their home.

Lanz-a-not-so-grotty

I spent last week driving badly round Lanzarote with my sister. I loved it. So barren and dramatic. One bonus is there are no adverts on the road. It was banned years ago by the island's most famous inhabitant, the architect Cesar Manrique. When he wasn't making incredible houses out of volcanic caves he was banning advertising. What a dude.

Charlie's House

I've started to photograph more interiors, something I used to do quite a lot of a few years ago. A picture editor friend suggested I photograph a few friend's houses to get back in the swing of things. I thought that was a great idea, but whose? I don't really have many friends whose houses would fit into Living Etc or Elle Decoration. For some reason they're not mad about 2 bed flats like my own near Catford. And then it came to me, Charlie! Here are the results. Thank you Chop x

The Evening Class Project

Last October I spent a week photographing as many people as possible from about 40 Evening Classes at City Lit in Holborn. Myself and the journalist Ros Anderson, (who I did the project with) wanted to pick a broad range of subjects to represent City Lit's vast catalogue. Our final choices included Jazz Singing, British Sign Language, Assertiveness, Math GCSE and Cornish.

The idea came from flicking through a prospectus my boyfriend had brought home and wondering who studies Cornish? Who studies Stand up Comedy? Do the people in the classes have anything in common apart from their chosen subject? I'm not sure I've found the answer to that question but it was fun trying. Thanks to City Lit and Ros, Lauren, Meg and Adam for helping me cajole (beg) people to be photographed.
